If you’re a fan of Marvel, you’ve probably heard the rumor that tickets for Avengers: Endgame would go on sale today. While I did expect a new trailer to announce ticket sales, I had no idea how long it would be or what all it would reveal.

Now that it’s out, let’s go ahead and take a look at some images and read way to much into them.

Iron Man Mark LXXXV Armor

Here is out first great look at Tony Stark’s new armor. Not much to say here other than the color scheme looks a lot like the Mark 3 from the first Iron Man. Probably some form of NanoTech that was used in the Mark L from Infinity War.

My biggest question coming from this armor is what do the other 34 armors look like?

Rocket and Nebula morn the loss of the Guardians

These two photos show something we already knew: the return of Tony Stark to Earth along with Nebula’s first visit to the planet. It looks like it is that moment in the “Big Game” TV spot where Black Widow, Captain America, Bruce Banner, and James Rhodes are walking out of the Avenger’s Facility looking to the sky.

We also see that Rocket and Nebula are growing closer from the loss of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Clint is intense

I want to take a moment and point out Clint’s (aka Hawkeye) full arm tattoo. I don’t recall seeing Clint showing off his arm before. I’m betting this is new for the character showing the harder side of his Ronin persona.

The Avengers

This photo is full of little details to pick out. It’s more than seeing Clint, Rhodey, Tony, Steve, Nebula, Rocker, Scott, and Natasha in the same room. It also depicts just about everyone in a different outfit.

The three outfits that I want to point out are worn by Nebula, Rocket, and Natasha. Nebula’s outfit reminds me of the outfit she wore in the Annihilation: Ronan comic.

We also get an amazing look at Rocket’s new outfit. It looks like its pulled straight from the comic.

And Natasha has the exact same look from previous scenes of her behind the desk in the other trailers.

I would also like to point out that, based on Natasha’s hair, there has been a significant amount of time passing — most of her natural red color is back.

Notable in their absence here is Thor and Carol. Based on the alluded time jump, I wonder if they are on their own mission.

Tony and Steve

This moment in the trailer has Tony and Steve seemingly burying the rift between them that formed out of Captain America: Civil War. Steve looks hesitant but the conviction in his voice is something that we haven’t gotten with these two before.

Flight of the Benatar

This is one of my favorite shots of the sneak peek. We have Captain Marvel showing off her new suit. She joins Black Widow (notice the full blonde Infinity War hairstyle), War Machine, Thor, Captain America, and Rocket as they take the Benatar for a flight.

This, along with the previous shot of the team, makes me wonder if Thor and Carol say where they’re going with a mission of their own.

Tony reflects on the loss of Peter Parker

This really hit home the mindset of Tony. He feels as though he failed Spiderman. It’s a tough realization since he wanted him to be better than he was. He clearly struggles with it, and is determined to at least avenge his fallen mentee.

Sanctuary II

Thanos’ ship from the mid-credit scene of Thor: Ragnarok in what actually looks like that mid-credit scene itself.

It makes me wonder if this was used to pad out the sneak peek but with the other ships coming out it could be a flashback.

Nebula and War Machine

It looks like this is from the lower deck of the Benatar. Both Nebula and War Machine are wearing their Infinity War outfits, making me think this happens early. Even though Nebula is not shown in the previous group shot, on the Benatar, she may still be working on the ship.

Thanos and…the Bifrost?

Here we get a great look at Thanos wearing his armor. The biggest question I have is the way he enters the scene.

It looks to me like he’s coming out of the Bifrost and not using the Space Stone. His voice-over also sounds like he’s talking to either Tony or Thor.

Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor

This shot of the Big Three coincides with the end of Thanos’ voice-over. It leads to the thought that he’s actually talking to all three of them instead of just Tony or Thor. He is saying they couldn’t live with their failure, and seemingly mocks them about needing to come back to him because of it.

It sets up an interesting dynamic that makes me wonder if they will fight right away or just have a conversation.

That is what jumped out at me the most out of this one minute of footage. I do recognize that there is a great chance that a lot of this is either misdirection and possibly not even used in the final film.

Time will tell exactly how Endgame will play out, but I have to say that April 26th wont come soon enough.

  1. Hello everyone. I was watching the trailer again and noticed something that I missed when I wrote the article. In the last photo of Tony, Cap and Thor, I missed what they are walking toward. You can see in the background between Cap and Thor that Thanos is sitting in the rubble with a double bladed sword. This makes me think that his voice over about failure bringing the Avengers to him happening right around this time. I do also wonder where they are. Is this a destroyed New York? Maybe the planet that Thanos was on at the end of Infinity War? There are so many questions that Endgame can’t come soon enough.
